How do you prepare microscope slides?

Answered By Evan Mattensen, Editor

Preparing microscope slides need to be precise and deliberate. Each material to be used should be ready and on hand. This usually includes the cover glass, slides, a dropper and the specimen you want to view.

Make sure that your equipments are very clean. Drop a small amount of your specimen on the center of the slide. Slowly, lower the cover on the area at an angle.

Let the specimen spread out under the cover without the need to press the slide and the cover. Just place the slide on the microscope and view. A word of caution though, do not put too much of the specimen or it will overflow and move around when being viewed, a very small amount could let it dry up easily.
