Should I buy a used microscope?

Answered By Evan Mattensen, Editor

It’s okay to purchase a used microscope provided that it’s in functional condition. There are several producers of good new instruments that sell microscopes at a lower price than the famous brands.

Often times it is possible to buy excellent instrument for a very reasonable price. But unless you are adept at checking them out then its best to stay away fro them. You may be getting a good deal on the price, but if the microscope doesnt work properly than its all for naught.
